This week in year 2 we have continued our journey around the continents and have been learning about Antarctica , while reading our book One Day on our Blue Planet in Antarctica we have created our very own polar bear and penguin factfiles. In P.E we have been finishing our dance to our song ‘I just can' t wait to be King’ learning a variety of different steps. In Art we have been working with clay and using a variety of different techniques to get ready to make our final piece. Spellings: Common Exception words. |

This week in Year 2, we have been reading an exciting text about a spider monkey travelling across the rainforest. We have been focusing on writing nouns and verbs in our work. In Science, we have been expanding our enquiry knowledge and looking at different habitats. We joined Year 1 and Reception this week to watch the performance of the Ugly Ducking on Wednesday and had lots of fun. Spellings: Common Exception Words |

This week in Year 2, we have been busy looking at the continents of the world with Around the World day taking place on Wednesday. They do a range of activities from climbing Mount Everest to dancing in Mexico. The children learnt about different cultures, flags and food. In Literacy, they have prepared a presentation on their Around the World experience to their peers. This week in Year 2 we are writing our own version of the Snail and the Whale focusing on our sentence structure, capital letters and full stops. In Maths we have been working on comparing and recording our numbers to 100. In Science this week we have been exploring different habitats and where different animals live. An excellent week in Year 2. In literacy we have started our new text The Snail and the Whale organising our writing focusing on capital letters and full stops. Year 2 Maths we have been working on place value within two digits. During our learning this week we have been looking at the continents in Geography getting ready for our experience day.
