Below you will find our weekly teaching and learning summary to find out how we develop and enrich your child's learning whilst they are with us.

Week ending What we have been learning about
18/07/25

What a fantastic last week of Year 2 we have had! In Literacy, we have designed our own superheroes and created our own comic strips about them. In Maths, we have been exploring three and four times table division facts and exploring inverse operations. In DT, we created our own vehicles inspired by the story of Zeraffa Giraffa, considering how to ensure it is suitable to transport a giraffe. In PE we had a fun session with different obstacles to explore. It has been a wonderful year and we hope the children have a wonderful summer break!

Year 2 has had another wonderful week! In Maths, we have been investigating the 3 and 4 times tables and how we can use arrays to represent multiplication and division facts. In Literacy, we finished our text, Zeraffa Giraffa, and wrote detailed newspaper articles about Zeraffa arriving in Paris. Did you know she was the first giraffe to ever set foot in Paris? We have looked at some amazing historical figures in History - Bessie Coleman and Amelia Earhart - and written fact files about their lives showing the impact they had on flight. In Science, we have continued to investigate materials, specifically exploring elasticity and comparing materials based on this.

Spellings: missing letters in words (apostrophes for contractions) e.g. can’t, hasn’t, I’m
